About
I decided to make this website for my art after dragging my legs in the desolate swamp of social media for too long, and finding out about Neocities and the “indie web”, and people trying to recreate the good ol’ days of personal websites before the dopamine apocalypse of social media, and the bottomless pit of doom scrolling. I’ve been drawing since I was a kid in the early 2000s when my brother and I would watch Dragon Ball Z on TV with pencils and papers, trying to draw the moving characters, then cut around them and play with them like action figures. We continued to do that with every new cartoon we watched. When I had enough of copying anime in my teens I still kept practicing, trying to draw more realistically or drawing silly stuff at school. But it felt more like a chore, and that I wasn't able to get my ideas out in a way that looked good enough. In 2018 after certain experiences I was compelled to express, I turned back to drawing with renewed vigor and inspiration, started using pens and since then kept going at full speed, and it became something I do and think about all the time. When you start to really enjoy the proccess and not get to hung up on what comes out then you'll end up doing it more, and inevitably get better. My art is inspired by many things – things I read and think about, images and feelings that come into my mind. But usually recurring themes are the ancient, primitive, mythological and religious. Personally I enjoy art (in the broader sense) that gives a feeling of Eternity, that is grand, powerful, romanticist, tragic, and elevating. If I know one thing is that beauty makes this world WAY better, and artists or anyone doing creative work should pursue that kind of stuff and not some ironic and ugly nonsense. Otherwise we end up living in concrete squares and drool over brainless junk content. Whatever art is, it's indeniably a tool that affects the minds and lives of people, so better affect it for good. Besides making art I enjoy reading books, writing, training calisthenics and martial arts, practicing primitive skills (see page Bushcraft), and walking in the woods.
